I'm a journalist and editor. Right now I'm at Roads and Kingdoms, an award-winning online journal of food, travel, politics, and culture. I write regularly for the magazine and edit the Know Before You Go series and the Breakfast and 5 O'Clock Somewhere columns. Before that, I was an editor and writer at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, a global security think-tank.
I'm a British-Canadian-South African hybrid born and raised in Vienna, Austria. Previous incarnations: business journalist, arts reviewer, book editor, online editor, and travel writer. I have a UK NCTJ qualification and a Masters from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.
'Any country that has more than one statue of a living politician is headed for trouble.'
